“Caught Up On The Last Day Of The Age”
There will be great
& unprecedented tribulation (See Matthew 24:21 & Daniel 12:1). "Now at that
time Michael, the great prince who stands guard over the sons of your
people, will arise. And there will be a time of distress such as never
occurred since there was a nation until that time; and at that time
your people, everyone who is found written in the book, will be
rescued.” (Daniel
12:1 [NASB]) After the tribulation the Lord’s elect will be caught up to be with
Him. (Read Daniel 12:1 then Daniel
12:2. Also Read Matthew 24:29 then
/ through Matthew 24:31) “Many of
those who sleep in the dust of the ground will awake, these to
everlasting life, but the others to disgrace and everlasting contempt.”
(Daniel 12:2 [NASB]) "But
immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE
DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL
from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken. And then
the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the
tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING
ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.
And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY
WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the
sky to the other.” (Matthew 24:29-31 [NASB]) It has been erroneously taught that saved will
be caught up years before the dead, but that teaching is contrary to
the Word of God. Clearly, the dead rise
first. The Word also makes clear, the dead
rise on the “last day” [of the age]. (See
John “For this we
say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain
until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen
asleep. For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a
shout, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet of God, and
the dead in Christ will rise first. Then
we who are alive and remain will be caught up together with them in the
clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we shall always be with the
Lord.” (1 Thessalonians 4:15-17 [NASB]) Some say the Lord could return today, tomorrow
or next week. The Lord has foretold things
that will come to pass before His return, therefore these unfulfilled
events are prerequisites to His return. One
only needs to study the Word to discover there are many events that yet
have to unfold prior to our Lord’s return. “A plain
token of
God's righteous judgement, I say, since it is a righteous thing for Him
to requite with affliction those who are now afflicting you; and to requite with rest you who are suffering
affliction now--rest with us at the re-appearing of the Lord Jesus from
Heaven, attended by His mighty angels.” (2nd
